Allow me to introduce myself and give somebackground .....
My love affair with dogs began unrequited as a kid - our neighbors always had dogs - the lady next door had two pugs she always call "the boys", later as a teenager the family across the street had a black standard poodle that I adored and visited us for breakfast - How I wanted a poodle but I had to wait until on by own to get my first miniature poodle - Angel (Petite Angelique Noir - my own little black angel) who went everywhere with me including to my classroom when I was teaching!  I learned the hard way through her what not having proper genetic screening could cause as she had many avoidable health issues - I lost her much to soon, but as a result  I have been involved with dogs for many more years than I would care to admit to as an exhibitor in both breed and obedience competition and as a breeder.  I have had poodles for over 30 years ...... but, I have been breeding and showing Miniature Poodles for  only about 20 years and more recently have begun showing and breeding Miniature Pinschers as well.  My kennel prefix is "CANTATA" - a musical influence reflecting my being a professional singer and felt that I wanted to reflect my music in both my kennel and dogs' names (you'll see that ALL Cantata registered dogs end up with some type of "musical" name).  My philosophy regarding breeding is quite simple:  If it's not good enough to show (and hopefully win) its not good enough to breed.  There are enough puppies and dogs that need homes to state quite firmly that, in my opinion, breeding should not be done for any reason other than for the betterment of the breed involved.  Profit should not and cannot be a motivation in breeding if we are going to be responsible breeders.   I do not breed often (usually only when I want something to show or have a waiting list) and  I sell only two types of dogs - pets/companion, which are sold strictly on spay/neuter agreement; or show potential which may be bred provided all genetic screenings are passed.  If someone is looking for "breeding stock" Cantata is definitely NOT the place to come unless you understand the basics behind exhibiting and breeding and are willing to work toward the improvement of these breeds.  Breeding is a lifetime responsibility and should not be entered into lightly ...........but THAT is another lecture in and of itself.  In addition to breeding dogs, I own and manage Furry Friend Fashions, maker of Designer & Reflective Petwear Products.

It is my intent to make these pages  a showcase for not just my dogs, their sucesses in the ring and in breeding, but also a place where interested parties can find helpful information, links to other cool dogsites and maybe some fun. I would appreciate anyfeedback you can provide, so please feel free to contact me by email:
